Following the grit blasting of the frames we have been taking every oppoprtunity the weather gives us to get more paint onto protect the clean metal from rust.
A rare pair of fine days on Friday and Saturday 6th and 7th March gave us the chance to finally get at least one coat of undercoat on the last of the parts that had only the anti-corrosive primer that was sprayed on immediately following the grit blasting.
SEPTEMBER UPDATE
Work has continued on restoring the frames, there are many small and some not so small area where time has had its say on the frames, so we have slowly been repairing these areas using, metal putty, high build paint and in some areas building them up with weld. Each stage requires flattening back of either the surrounding area, the repair, or both. It is a slow steady job but when complted the frames should look close to superb when finally painted .
