The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded us a grant of £57,400 to run a series of training projects - these range from the very basic preserving rusted components to complex machining tasks and involve both structured training workshops for the less skilled and self-development for the more advanced volunteer.

Dinmore Manor Locomotive Ltd has supported the creation of the 2874 Trust from the outset and arranged the purchase of our locomotive - they continue to provide expertise & the use of their tools and equipment, in addition to using their buying power as an established locomotive restorer and operator. We anticipate an ongoing relationship right through the restoration and we will continue to use their operational experience when we come to run a completed loco on Heritage Lines.

Included in our first National  Heritage Lottery Fund work was a sub-project to create a new website - this has served us very well for seven years but is now due for a "refresh".   We would like to record our thanks to the staff and students of SGS Berkeley Green UTC for their work.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway have provided a restoration base for our work and access to their established volunteer workforce. In addition, we are able to publicise our project at events on the Railway and through their magazine. In due course, we hope to operate the restored loco on this line.

Awards are made based on public nominations, so we must thank all of those members a& friends who went on-line on each occasion to lend us their support. There are likely to be future opportunities to help as Ecclesiastical opens up more funding ventures - we will take part!
