Heritage Engineering Skills & Training

A primary objective of The 2874 Trust is ensuring the development and transfer of heritage mechanical engineering skills. Through our Heritage Lottery Fund supported program, we use the restoration of locomotive 2874 as a hands-on training platform for both newcomers and experienced engineers alike.

Many traditional engineering skills are at risk of being lost as technology advances. Our training program helps preserve these vital heritage skills for future generations while providing rewarding learning opportunities for our volunteers.
